The 40 day long yearly "holy amarnath yatra" to the heavenly give in place of worship of Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas will Start on June 29,2017 the Shrine board said on Monday.

The current year's yatra will be shorter by eight days against a years ago 48 days. 

"To shield the wellbeing and security of travelers, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has chosen that the yatra will begin on June 29 and finish up on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on August 7," an official representative said in Jammu. 



Jammu and Kashmir Governor and executive of SASB N Vohra directed the 32nd meeting of the place of worship board held in New Delhi on Monday. 

The Board has guided its CEO to mastermind a unique puja at Chandanwari on Jyesth Purnima on June 9 to conjure gifts of Lord Shiva for security of explorers 

It said travelers will be permitted to enlist date-wise and course insightful during the current year's yatra considering the current tracks and accessible foundation can deal with 7,500 yatris, every day. 

The CEO has made strides for enlistment of travelers through 433 bank offices and has put out promotions to encourage those going to the place of worship to get their necessary well being authentications. 

Advance Registration  for the trip will begin on March 1st 2017, the representative stated, including the CEO will find a way to guarantee continuous telecom availability in the yatra region. 

The Board has approached all travelers to play it safe for the unforgiving atmosphere and landscape on the route to the shrine. 

It has inspected the 2017 Yatra Action Plan, including courses of action for therapeutic care, establishment of railings and of waste in a logical way.

  1. Perched at a height of more than 3800m above sea level and located south of Zozila, Sri Amarnath is a holy shrine for hindus in the Himalayas.
