 Group Registration

Introduction In the past years the Board has been receiving representations that a large Group of pilgrims who belong to an extended family or reside in the same Mohalla / Village and are desirous of travelling together to have Darshan together at Holy Cave Shrine are unable to do so because the Registration quota allotted to the nearest located Bank Branch is inadequate for accommodating the demand of a large Group. Therefore, in many cases, the members of such Groups have been compelled to obtain registration for different available dates but arrived at the Base Camps of Baltal / Pahalgam together and faced difficulties as they were stopped from undertaking Yatra on a date different than what was entered in their Yatra Permit. To facilitate all members of a large Group obtaining registration for a particular date, the Board has initiated a new scheme during Yatra 2014 for “Group Registration”.

Guidelines for Group Registration

On-Spot Registration for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2016

As per rules only 14000-15000 registered Shri Amarnath Yatra 2015  pilgrims are allowed beyond Pehlgam and Baltal in a day.
For the convenience of the pilgrims, for their onward journey for the pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath Yatra the Shrine Board also considers to open “On-Spot Registration Centres” if the Yatra Registration for the day is below the prescribed limit of 15,000 registrations
The Registration centres for On-Spot Registration centres are then announced by the authorities. The on-spot registration is typically only available for the dates when there are some vacancies.
Pilgrims should prefer to get registration from their respective areas well in advance and should not leave for Yatra with the aniticipation to go for ‘On spot registration’ as it may cause them inconvenience because one might be required to stand in the queue for quite some time as large gatherings are usually seen at on spot registration centres.
Various departments including Police, Traffic, Tourism department to take the task to make the pilgrims aware through public announcements, pamphlets, banners and display on LCD screens that unregistered pilgrims would not be allowed to go for Shri Amarnath Yatra and therefore, Yatris are advised to avoid such practices.
